About Us

It was the post – independence era and just began to rotate its wheels toward nation – building. There were only a few visionaries who believed that the country was more important than home and Dr. P. Vadamalayan was one such legend who pulsated with a mission to serve all. He added flesh and blood to his birth’s cause and created Vadamalayan Hospital, a multi specialty modern health provider to all classes of the society, which was aptly inaugurated by the then Chief minister Thiru. K. Kamarajar. 

Ever since inception the hospital practices Evidence Based Medicine to give ethical, timely and effective treatment for the ailing from all over south Tamilnadu. It continues to stay at the top and is committed to updating facilities, equipment and technology. Nuclear Medicine Technology is a course that deals with the study of imaging of internal organs of the human body using radioactive Isotopes. The inception of Nuclear medicine was with the invention of the Cyclotron in 1930 by Ernest Orlando Lawrence.

Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Technology is an under graduate allied health science specialization course. It is a four years program including one year internship. The main objective of B.Sc. in Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technology course is to equip students with the knowledge of anesthetic equipment, their usage and how to monitor the patients. They trained to operate ventilators, monitors, defibrillators, C- Arm and infection control policy and procedures in the operation theatre. They assist doctors in ICUs, emergency wards, and operation theatre.

An OT technologist also helps surgeon in the surgical operations and looks after the drugs required for surgery, drapes, anesthetic gases, linen and their sterilization, etc., They are responsible for direct and indirect patient care, equipment set up and operation procedures.

The main aim of the program is to teach and train the candidate in operation theater technology and management of operation theater along with handling a wide range of operating instruments including electronic and advanced equipment used in modern operation theaters.
