MEM (CCT-EM) [Masters in Emergency Medicine (Certificate of Completion of Training in EM)] in association with SEMI (Society for Emergency Medicine, India) – Not under the purview of MCI. (NEET PG not mandatory)

The Accident and Emergency Medicine, is the broad medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. The Emergency medical practitioner, in their role as first-line providers, responsible for initiating investigations and interventions to diagnose and/or treat patients in the acute phase (including initial resuscitation and stabilization), coordinating care with physicians from other specialties, and making decisions regarding a patient’s need for hospital admission, observation, or discharge.

Patients in Emergency Department are unscheduled and undifferentiated. Emergency medicine physicians carry out the immediate assessment and treatment of patients with serious and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The nature of work in the Emergency Department requires Emergency Medicine Physicians to maintain an extremely broad range of clinical skills and knowledge.

Society for Emergency Medicine

The “Society for Emergency Medicine, India” (SEMI) was established in 1999. It is a full member of the “International Federation of Emergency Medicine” (IFEM). SEMI is the oldest and strongest body, which has identified the importance of Emergency Medicine as a specialty in the country. SEMI is continuously working on Training, Education, Recognition, Research and Service regards to the emergency medicine specialty. Vadamalayan Emergency Medicine Department

The Department of Emergency Medicine of “Vadamalayan Hospital private Limited ” is 10 bedded well organized, state of the art facility manned by qualified Emergency Physicians, Nurses and Emergency Medical Technicians 24X7, supported by all the specialties and super-specialties.

200 bedded Multispecialty Vadamalayan Hospital having all Specialities and facilities accredited with NABH standards.

Department of Emergency Medicine is 10 bedded with protocol based emergency room, triage zone, three priority zones. It offers the student a unique clinical experience through its excellent academic schedule. Training comprises of rotatory postings in Emergency room, Medical ICU, Surgical ICU and OT to attain skills to provide emergency care, critical care and basic anesthesia.

Weekly journal club and Hands-on workshops for skill learning in onsite skill laboratory from experts. Pre hospital emergency care and in-hospital emergency codes are included in training. EM dept is supported by round the clock diagnostics lab, radiology, blood bank and expert teams.

Fee (to be paid to SEMI / per candidate by the Institution) (Non refundable) – Rs.1,20,000/- (One Lakh Twenty Thousnd rupees only) per candidate (To be paid to SEMI at the time of joining at first year)

  • Total 3 years course fee.
  • SEMI life membership fee (membership card included).
  • All exam fees (Theory and Practical) over First and Final year.
  • Convocation at the end of 3 years and completion certificate fee.
  • Student Registration (conference only) for 3 SEMI National Conference over 3 years (EMCON).

The SEMI-MEM (Master of Emergency Medicine) program is a postgraduate clinical training course recognized by the Society for Emergency Medicine, India. It equips medical graduates with advanced skills in managing emergency and critical care cases through hands-on training, expert mentorship, and a globally-aligned curriculum.


The program is open to MBBS graduates or equivalent foreign medical degree holders who wish to specialize in Emergency Medicine. Candidates must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any state medical council to be eligible.

Students receive extensive clinical exposure in real-time emergency settings at Vadamalayan Hospitals. The training includes ICU rotations, trauma care, emergency procedures, and simulation-based skill development under experienced faculty supervision.
